Gals Lose Way to Silver Crest; Anita Gets Hurt
ll went well as we approached the bottom of the hill by the Powerline, when Anita started to get tired. She hadn’t been out since summer, so this was a pretty hard snowshoe to start with.
Then somehow, we took a wrong turn and ended going along a road in the wrong direction, so we turned around. Susan encouraged us to take the Powerline trail back, but we all saw how steep it was and Anita was really hurting. She had pulled something in her leg, so we retraced our steps instead.
Viki and Sara started getting cold as we were going slowly so Anita wouldn’t injure herself more, so those two went ahead to the car to warm up. They finished about an hour ahead of Susan, June and Anita. And it was still snowing. It snowed the whole day despite the prediction of partly sunny weather.
Anita’s leg was so bad that Susan drove her car back, but not before they took a stop for some drinks at Bob’s bar to help dull the pain. Interesting, once we got past Neihart, no snow!
It was after dark by the time the gals got back to town, around 5:30. We had left at 8 a.m. that morning.
Who went: Susan, Viki, June, Anita, Sara
